Restoration of Voluntary Voiding by Obturator-to-Pelvic Nerve Rerouting After Radical Sacrococcygeal Teratoma Resection: A Case Report

Updated: Aug 21, 2025

A male college student underwent a radical sacrococcygeal teratoma resection 6 years ago, and since then he could not void due to all pelvic nerves transected unavoidably during the surgery. He underwent a modified Xiao procedure as obturator nerve to pelvic nerve rerouting 4 years ago. His bladder sensory and motor functions returned as did voluntary voiding within 6 months after obturator to pelvic nerve rerouting.
